At Balsam Bodywork, our mission is to provide functional and therapeutic bodywork that alleviates pain, releases tension, and addresses the root causes of musculoskeletal imbalances.

Through an integrative approach, we incorporate therapeutic massage with yoga-based movement and breath work to support deep healing and long-term wellness.

Meet Kim!

Kim is the owner of Balsam Bodywork and a licensed massage and bodywork therapist in North Carolina (#22381). Her journey in the healing arts began in the athletic training room at Warren Wilson College, where she assisted the Athletic Trainer in treating sports injuries.

With a background in science education, Kim spent years inspiring a love of emergent and alternative learning in western North Carolina. Her path gradually shifted from education to the healing arts after completing her yoga teacher training in 2021 at Asheville Yoga Center and massage therapy training in 2024 at the Western Carolina School of Massage.

Kim takes a functional, inquiry-based approach to bodywork, fostering a collaborative experience where therapist and client work together to uncover root causes, make meaningful progress, and restore the mind-body connection.

She is excited to share that she is in the process of applying to Doctor of Physical Therapy programs in western North Carolina, with the goal of expanding her scope of practice and deepening her ability to serve her clients.

Location

I am located inside the HF Center of Exercise Science, a dynamic wellness space that brings together personal trainers, physical therapists, and a wide range of gym and recovery equipment. This unique setting allows me to collaborate within a community dedicated to movement, rehabilitation, and performance, making it an excellent choice for clients seeking therapeutic and functional bodywork.

Because this is not a traditional massage studio, you may notice some background sounds from the gym environment. Many of my clients appreciate this atmosphere for its active, clinical feel; however, if you are seeking a deeply quiet, relaxation-focused experience, I recommend booking with me at my spa location, where the environment is designed specifically for calm and restoration.
